THE IDAN RAICHEL PROJECT BRINGS WIDE SPECTRUM
OF ISRAELI CULTURE ONSTAGE
Israeli keyboardist, composer and arranger Idan Raichel, considered to be among the top artists working in Israel today, savors the complexity and diversity of Israeli society. He shares his passion with the world by showcasing a stunning variety of Israeli music of Arab, Ethiopian, Caribbean and Middle Eastern origins through his Idan Raichel Project, which is a huge hit in Israel and around the world. The Project will be in concert as part of the Jewish Community Federation’s year-long celebration of Israel@60 at the Kentucky Center for the Arts on Tuesday, May 13, at 7 p.m.

Raichel embarked on his unique project in 2002, when he envisioned creating a modern, multi-cultural ensemble where the voices of young and old, Ethiopian and Yemenite, are all heard performing songs devoted to love and tolerance. Eventually 70 musicians participated in the Project – each bringing his or her own tradition to share and each taking center stage in turn, ensuring there is no lead voice. Their exciting music incorporates the many different languages and cultures that are part of Israel today. The Idan Rachel Project has catapulted Raichel and his eclectic collection of collaborators to international acclaim.
